lyrics

This is a sad seaside town, and half the shops are closing down.
Recession came here for a bite, but had a three course meal in spite
of all the promises foretold by luminaries brash and bold,
who never needed to have fun - one for all and all for one!

We took a bus, to find a place more distressed than us.
And I think that we found one, I'm sure that we found one -
here on the east coast, sub-paradise for us both.

We must have looked out of place, dressed to mourn yet fresh of face.
Look at us now we are pristine, despite the years that we have seen.
Our infrastructure served us well, cores of steel - but who could tell,
while standing, staring out to sea, do we share this memory?

We took a bus...
